A light and transparent tone. Resembles planed oak with a touch of white. Has a clean general appearance and is suited for the streamlined Nordic interior decoration style.

Oak Sky White is one of our most popular shades. It is slightly bleached, and slightly lighter and cooler in tone than shades such as Nordic and Snöhettä. Perfect for many different styles and interiors.
White matte lacquering is one of the most traditional flooring treatments, and has been in production for decades. White matte lacquering whitens the wood’s surface tone while allowing the wood’s natural tone and grain pattern to shine through. Our wooden flooring is available with a white matte varnish for oak and ash.

All types of wood can be damaged by excessively dry indoor air. If the relative humidity of the indoor air falls below the recommended level of 35 to 60%, cracks may appear in the floor. To prevent this, remember to monitor the humidity of the indoor air, especially during winter and other dry periods. Add moisture to the air if necessary, for example with a humidifier. Larch reacts most sensitively to dry indoor air, and hairline cracks or fissures may appear more quickly than with other woods. The optimal relative humidity level for wood, 35 to 60%, is also the optimal indoor humidity for humans.

Downstairs we have 150 mm Sky White Herringbone Oak Classic hard wax-oiled wooden flooring, and upstairs we have 185 mm Oak Classic Sky White brushed hard wax-oiled flooring. The stairs have edging on the steps, which are made of the same flooring material. Installed in May 2020. Detached house, two small children and two adults, no pets.
It was long clear to us that we would get a Timberwise floor. Timberwise is a family-run business, provides excellent, personalised customer service as well as good recommendations and a wide range of options. All these factors made our minds up for us. Timberwise provides large sample pieces in nearby shops so that prospective customers can get a realistic idea of the colour and style of the wooden flooring. Being able to combine styles in the same shade was important to us too. The stairs are made of the same material, and we ordered the step edgings from Timberwise as well.
Flooring is one of the most visible parts of a home, and it needs to last. It’s worth investing in. I’m especially impressed with the glued wooden flooring that was laid downstairs. It’s sturdy and warm on the feet. The wooden flooring laid with tongue and groove joints is of very high quality. The joints did not break, and so there was no waste at all.
Timberwise has a broad selection, and above all it’s a Finnish family-run business. I also like how attractively the traces of living blend into the wooden flooring.

Our floor is Oak Classic Sky white 185 mm and it was installed in 2017. Our home is a detached house, and the family consists of two adults and two children, who are five and eight years of age. We have no pets.
The Timberwise brand was already familiar to us. I had read about the features of the product before, and we had practically no other options on our shortlist. The main requirements were safety, durability, Finnish origin – and, of course, it had to look fabulous. The brushed and hard wax-oiled surface feels pleasant underfoot.
The end result has lived up to our expectations, which were quite high. We are very pleased with the quality, and the wooden flooring has stood up very well to family life.
