What kind of spaces emerge when a Finnish floor meets the Color of the Year? At Timberwise, we believe the answer lies in the fusion of two elements: uncompromising quality and bold creativity. These ingredients gave rise to spring 2025’s most inspiring project, where Pantone’s 2025 shade, Mocha Mousse, is paired with Finnish Timberwise parquet flooring and the distinctive visions of three creative designers. The result is three unique moodboards that highlight the richness of Mocha Mousse and showcase the key role Timberwise flooring plays in shaping an atmosphere.
Three cities, three perspectives
We invited three design studios from Timberwise’s showroom cities: KOKO3 from Helsinki, Studio Hernesniemi from Tampere, and Päivi Himanen from Turku. Each designer was tasked with interpreting the mood of Mocha Mousse using Timberwise flooring as part of their concept. Each took their own approach—KOKO3 through playfulness, Studio Hernesniemi through timelessness, and Päivi Himanen through grounded naturality.
KOKO3 – A play of colors and surprises

Helsinki-based KOKO3 approached Mocha Mousse boldly through light and contrast, creating an energetic and expressive whole where colors interact in dialogue. A vivid yellow brings spring light and warmth into the space, standing confidently beside Mocha Mousse. Timberwise’s Red Oak Katmai introduces earthiness, and the composition blends carefully chosen materials and objects that tell stories and bring texture. Patinated copper, vintage classics, and art add dynamic tension.
Finnish design icons are also present: an Antti Nurmesniemi armchair upholstered in Vuokko’s classic stripes adds graphic clarity, while playful elements like a small dinosaur remind us that a home should be fun, evolving, and personal.
KOKO3’s final result embraces color and surprise. It shows how a space can be both balanced and vibrant—soft yet full of dimension. Timberwise’s Red Oak Katmai parquet unifies the colorful ensemble with its calming and expressive presence.
Studio Hernesniemi – Timeless elegance

Studio Hernesniemi from Tampere approached the project from the angle of timelessness. Designer Johanna Hernesniemi aimed to create a concept that stands the test of time—both aesthetically and in quality. At the heart is the idea of quiet luxury: tones and forms that don’t demand attention but leave a lasting impression.
The palette is natural and subdued, forming a harmonious whole with Mocha Mousse. Timberwise’s Oak Moonstone serves as a stable foundation upon which classic materials—marble and glass—add elegance and lightness. These are not just beautiful choices but durable ones that maintain their appeal over time. The result is full of small, carefully considered details.
In Hernesniemi’s plan, the wall is coated with Mocha Mousse-toned microcement, deepening the color’s richness through texture. Soft textiles, timeless patterns, and curated objects create a serene mood. The aim isn’t to stand out, but to offer classic continuity—something many of us long for.
This design is balanced, understated, and warm—proof that timeless style never goes out of fashion. The Timberwise Oak Moonstone floor, with its light gray hue, fits seamlessly into the classic concept.
Päivi Himanen – The silence of a forest

Päivi Himanen from Turku found her inspiration in the forest—at the moment when the first breath of spring is in the air. The atmosphere unfolded gradually, step by step, like a trail you follow in peace.
Timberwise’s Oak Cognac was chosen as the base for the moodboard, integrating naturally into Himanen’s vision. The layered composition brings together earthy tones, varied textures, and natural forms. Bark, vintage items, and Mia Kulkki’s sand-dried flowers are thoughtfully included—as if they were found, not placed.
Textured wallpaper and brushed steel bring light and subtle contrast. The tactile surfaces invite not just to see but also to feel. A hint of artistic layering is added: a visit to artist Marjatta Holma’s studio brought sensitivity and tangible presence to the moodboard.
The beauty of Himanen’s concept lies in its quietness, subtle nuances, and the way light plays on surfaces. The Timberwise Oak Cognac floor matches the interior’s tone, making the whole feel cohesive and controlled.
Three visions, one shade – and endless possibilities
Mocha Mousse is more than a Color of the Year—it’s an invitation to explore moods, materials, and new interior design directions. In each moodboard, Timberwise parquet not only provided the visual base but also an enduring and timeless platform for creating personalized spaces. The collaboration with three designers showed how one color can transform into playful, classic, or grounding expressions—and how crucial floor choice is in shaping the desired atmosphere.
Timberwise x Mocha Mousse is a tribute to quality and creativity—and an inspiration for anyone looking to design a space that truly feels like home.
