A Floor built to last – Responsible Timberwise

At Timberwise, responsibility is not a separate programme or a passing theme. It is the foundation of how we work – thoughtful, transparent and long-term. Every material selection, production step and design decision is made with one goal in mind: to create wooden floors that stand the test of time and everyday life. Our floors are not disposable interior products, but long-lasting, maintainable companions for the home. A Timberwise floor is an investment designed to serve for decades and to retain its beauty and value throughout its lifespan.

A Floor that lasts through life – and time

A Timberwise floor is built for real living. Made from real wood, our parquet floors can be professionally sanded 2–3 times, significantly extending their lifespan. Many Timberwise floors remain in use after more than 20 years, their natural patina telling a story of time.

Longevity is the most ecological choice

When assessing a product’s environmental impact, its entire life cycle plays a crucial role. We believe true ecological responsibility is achieved through durability and quality. A long-lasting floor does not end up as waste, nor does it require new raw materials to replace it. A durable wooden floor is also a sound economic choice. Its cost is spread over a long service life, and its quality enhances both the comfort and value of the home.

When a Timberwise floor eventually reaches the end of its life, its non-toxic composition allows for responsible disposal and recycling.

Non-toxic wooden floors can be:

  • recycled as clean wood waste
  • burned in wood-fired stoves or fireplaces (subject to local regulations)
  • reused in smaller spaces, furniture, wall panels or building projects
  • sold or donated for a second life

Reusing wood is always the most ecological option – and as a material, wood offers endless possibilities.

Finnish craftsmanship in every board

Timberwise is a 100% Finnish family-owned company. All our wooden floors are manufactured in our own factory in Loimaa – from sawing and drying to pressing, profiling, finishing and packaging. More than 20 precise production stages, combined with skilled craftsmanship, ensure quality that lasts for generations. By choosing Timberwise, you support Finnish craftsmanship, local expertise and domestic employment – values that stay in Finland.

Certified materials and clean indoor air

All Timberwise raw materials come from responsibly managed FSC- or PEFC-certified forests. Our products hold the M1 emission classification as well as the JAS F**** standard, ensuring they are low in emissions and safe for both people and indoor air. Our production is designed to minimise waste. Side streams such as sawdust are used to heat our kilns, and surplus material is given a new life through the Twise by Timberwise collection of design objects.

A more sustainable future is built through choices

A floor is the largest surface in the home – the foundation for everything that happens within it. When you choose Timberwise, you choose a floor that endures life, time and generations. You also make a responsible decision that supports Finnish work and respects the environment. Timberwise – a responsible, non-toxic and long-lasting wooden floor built to last for generations.
