Ecology and Certificates

Timberwise parquet is a good and safe choice for both your home and the environment.

Made in Finland

Despite its name, Timberwise is a Finnish company. We’ve been manufacturing single-strip quality wooden floors since 1999, and employ approximately 30 professionals. As a company and employer, Timberwise is proud of and committed to Finnish wood processing expertise.

For clean indoor air

The floor is one of the largest surfaces in the home, and therefore Timberwise has set product safety as one of its most important quality criteria. We are the first parquet factory in the world to introduce a completely formaldehyde-free adhesive in the production of all our products. The main source of formaldehyde has been chipboard, but also laminates, parquets and panels may emit formaldehyde if formaldehyde-containing adhesive has been used to glue them. Formaldehyde may irritate the eyes and upper respiratory passage even in small quantities, and it has been suspected to be connected with asthma symptoms. These matters are noteworthy especially in families with children, as small children crawl and play on the floor.

Ecology is the result of practical actions

At our factory, we follow an environmentally friendly way of thinking. For instance, we do not use endangered wood species, but we have specialized in colour treatments, due to which we can also offer our customers exotic tones with certified raw materials. We also recycle the waste and by-products created during production. For instance, we use the saw dust created as a by-product in the production process to heat our drying kilns. Some of the electricity we use is generated by our own solar panels.
